Smart Sweet: Banana Coco-Nuts Dessert Smoothie

Is there any more perfect trifecta than nuts, chocolate and coconut?? I must admit, I crave this combo on a regular basis. This smoothie satisfies those cravings while providing beneficial electrolytes, B vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids, and a healthy dose of protein and fiber. Because it is rich, and really, more of a dessert, I have made the portion size a bit smaller than the standard smoothie. Think those old fashioned juice glasses of your grandmother’s.

A Green Vanilla Shake

It’s Friday, so that means it’s clear-out-the-leftover-produce-from-the-fridge day. I typically shop for groceries on Sunday so by the time Friday rolls around, the produce is starting to wilt, droop and soften, making it a perfect opportunity to get creative and make a new breakfast smoothie so the wilting fruits and veggies don’t go to waste. Put your produce to good use with this amazing smoothie!

Pineapples are looking vibrant and fresh here in Australia as the weather warms up! To celebrate our change of seasons I decided to make a virgin pina colada, and it is certainly delicious. Get the recipe and find yourself in the tropics.

Smart Sweet: Macadamia Date Cookies (2 ways!)

These are super easy to make, they can be eaten as a raw ball or as a cookie, these are great for kids (oh and adults too) as they are sweetened naturally with dried fruit which is high in calcium and iron. After they are cooled well they become chewy! ENJOY!

In the Reboot Kitchen: Nutty Peach Pie Smoothie

My favorite juice to make when I’m wanting a little something sweet but also loading up on nutrients is the Peach Pie Juice. Since it’s my common go to, I figured it was time to experiment with other peach drinks…and this time a smoothie! A nutty one!

Smart Sweet: Ice Cream Sandwiches (Vegan & Dairy-free!)

Homemade banana ice cream is one of my favorite sweets to have on hand in my freezer, and when you add it in between two raw cookies, it’s even better! These were so easy to make and SO delicious — definitely tastes better than any I’ve ever had from an ice cream truck! Get the recipe.

In the Reboot Kitchen: Cinnamon Vanilla Chia Cereal

I used to be a huge cereal fan in college because it was so easy to scarf down before heading out the door. And I thought I was eating the “healthy” ones because that’s what the box said! Once I learned that most are full of processed ingredients that I can’t even pronounce I stopped eating cereal and started drinking more juices and smoothies in the morning. Well sometimes I want to switch it up, and to be honest I miss the simplicity of cereal! Thank goodness for chia seeds, because now they help me get my cereal fix while loading up on this mini superfood that leaves me full all morning.
