“Turnip” the Flavors of Your Green Juice

I love drinking a green juice to kick start my day but I often find myself using the same combination of produce.  I know we all love our greens, so I was excited when I mastered this new recipe combining the sweet fruits of cantaloupe and pear with a more bitter taste of turnip and its green headed leaves! Turnips are a nutritious root vegetable part of the cruciferous family which includes cabbage, kale, and brussels sprouts.

These white roots are rich in vitamin C, a powerful anti-oxidant helping to boost immunity and scavenge the body of harmful free radicals. The turnip greens are just as important and are often forgotten. Turnip’s long green headed leaves provide many vital nutrients including vitamins A, C, K and carotenoids.  Turn your next green juice into something new and exciting with this delicious treat!

  • 1 large turnip (including the long bunch of its green head)
  • 1 pear
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 1/4 cantaloupe, rind removed
  • 1 large carrot


  1. Wash all ingredients well.
  2. Remove rind from cantaloupe.
  3. Add all ingredients through juicer.
  4. Serve and enjoy!
