When the Reboot Kitchen fridge starts to overflow with produce, there’s only one thing to do…juice it! And that goes for any fridges out there that might be running out of space due to heaps of produce in there. Never let it go to waste, never let your greens wilt, and never let your cucumbers start to wrinkle. Just pop it all into the juicer and you’ll be putting your produce to their best use.
Last week, there were some standards in the kitchen — cucumbers, celery, kale — all easy choices to add to the juicer, but Kari saw something else that we hadn’t used too often. It’s dark brown, a little dirty looking on the outside, but when you slice it open it’s a beautiful sunset-orange color. I’m talking about turmeric, the wonder spice. There are so many amazing benefits from turmeric so it’s becoming a new staple in the Reboot Kitchen. And it added the perfect amount of zing to this basic recipe.
- 1 pear
- 1/2 cucumber
- 4 celery stalks
- 6 kale (Tuscan cabbage) leaves
- 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 in (1.25 cm) piece of ginger
- 1 in. (2.5 cm0 piece of turmeric
1. Wash all produce well.
2. Peel lemon.
3. Add all ingredients to juicer and enjoy!
